President’s Message
Greetings Fellow TUers:
I just got back from two trips; one was our Family
Outing at Deadhorse Ranch and despite the poor
turnout we all had a great time. I would like to know
what all of you like in a family Outing so we can make
it more successful next year or should we just end the
tradition now and do something completely different.
The other trip was to Durango to collect on a guided
trip that I had won. What a blast! We fished the
Delores, the Animas, the San Juan and then on our
return fished Silver Creek. All rivers were fantastic. Our
guide on the Delores and Animas was Doug Buck. Doug
showed us techniques and places we would have
passed up on our own. If any members are planning to
visit the Durango area, I highly recommend Doug.
Our Holiday Party is fast approaching and I hope
to see more of you than I did at the Family Outing.
Remember this party is totally catered so please come
and enjoy. Also remember to RSVP John Singley so we
have a proper head count. We will be selling tickets for
the upcoming February 24 Banquet at the party at the
reduced rate of $40. Please get your tickets before they
go up. This is our main fundraiser for the year so
please be generous. Last year, money raised from the
banquet helped our effort with all of the workdays on
Apache Trout including the one in which we assisted on
making a new Eagle Scout for the Boy Scouts. We also
sent two youths to TU Conservation/Flyfishing Camp in
Michigan. We also help send some Tucson 4 H Club
members to a camp in Phoenix. Money raised also
helps pay for our monthly meetings and Lie and Ties.
This year we will be doing much of the same and
adding more Gila Trout workdays. We will also try and
do some work on rose Canyon Lake on Mount Lemmon.
and to bring you some quality speakers this year. If you
would like to see other things done let the Board know.
If you can help out with a donation to the banquet
it would be much appreciated and we can give you a
tax deductible receipt, even if you can't make the
banquet.
The elections will be held at the Holiday Party. If
you are interested in getting more involved please let
me or a board member know.

HOLIDAY PARTY – DECEMBER 2
ND
The holiday party will be on December 2
nd
at the
Singley's place. It will start at 6:30 with dinner being
served at 7. We are doing it different this year as the
dinner will be a catered, Mexican menu. The club will
be providing the dinner, soft drinks and mixers. BYOB
on adult beverages. Since this will be a catered dinner
we need to have a count on who will be coming at least
a week before the dinner. Please call John @ 318-4791
and tell how many will be coming. Leave a message if
no answer. NOW IS NOT TOO SOON. For those who
haven't been to the Singley's it is at 3461 N. Wilson, 1
block South of Prince and two blocks East of Campbell
(or 2 blocks west of Tucson Blvd.); on the SW corner of
Greenlee and Wilson.
