San Juan 2007 – Tentative dates March 10-13.
Anticipated cost approximately $300/person
OPTU plans on the following trips in 2007: San Juan
(John Murphy's), Annual Family Outing, Fall Retirees Trip,
and based upon interest one additional trip to either the
San Juan or Lees Ferry. Don't forget there is fun fishing in
southern Arizona's lakes. Arizona Game and Fish will be
stocking these lakes on a regular basis throughout the
winter. It's always a fun day of fishing with fellow OPTU
members locally. Check at the upcoming Holiday Party and
future monthly meetings for fishing plans.

THE BATTLE AT ROCK CLIFF

It was late autumn in a time since passed. Throughout th e
year, the combatants had prepared for this fight. Strategies had
been formulated and battle plans made ready. Both had
prepared with total focus, tuning and perfecting their skills and
reflexes. While each warrior had challenged and defeated lesser
adversaries with relative ease, this battle would be different. This
battle would challenge the limits of their abilities. This time, their
actions would have to be immediate and decisive.
The strategies of the warriors were markedly different. The
first warrior, a simple, yet fast and cunning individual named
Fario, chose to use the site of the battle as his primary
advantage. The battle would take place on Fario's home territory
where he knew every rock and tree, every ambush point and
escape route. Combining h is years of experience with his
deceptive size and speed, he had rebuffed countless attacks by
inferior enemies, sending them home battered, beaten, and
humbled.
The second warrior was Claudius, a large and physically
imposing individual who chose a totally different strategy.
Claudius, being the larger but slower of the two, would rely first
on stealth to surprise his opponent. Then, he would utilize his
superior size and strength to prevail in what would surely be a
test of endurance as well as wits.
The day of the battle, the sun rose into a clear, blue sky. Mild
temperatures and gentle breezes prevailed, ensuring that
weather would play no role in the struggle that was about to
unfold. As the battle began, Fario moved to his chosen position,
a place that Claudius could not approach without revealing
himself. Fario had studied his opponent well, and he knew that
Claudius was a master of stealth. Fario knew that if Claudius
s
